Azula joins the independent agency to strengthen its creative offering and pursue larger national brand campaigns
RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — West Cary Group (WCG), an award-winning marketing, advertising, and technology firm, has named acclaimed veteran Andy Azula as Executive Creative Director. The move adds one of the advertising and marketing industry’s most accomplished leaders to the executive team as the agency expands its integrated offerings.
Azula brings fresh momentum and over two decades of experience to the firm. His career includes creative leadership roles at The Martin Agency, McCann, and Great Minds, where he guided marketing efforts for international and national brands including Microsoft, UPS, Walmart, and Pizza Hut. Among his many notable accomplishments, Azula helped build m:united, an agency established to serve Microsoft’s global business, and helped craft UPS’s iconic “What Can Brown Do For You?” campaign, widely hailed for transforming an intricate business offering into a compelling brand story. He also served as the on-camera spokesperson for the campaign’s TV commercials.
The approximately 120-person agency has built its business around solving complex marketing challenges and connecting creative work with measurable outcomes. Azula’s arrival advances that model, adding creative experience and leadership to help WCG compete for high-profile brand assignments and expand the work it delivers for existing clients.
“Often, our industry treats creativity and accountability as competing ideas. The strongest agencies deliver both,” said Moses Foster, President and CEO of West Cary Group. “We’re building a technologically sophisticated, analytically driven agency with the creative firepower to compete with anyone. Andy understands how to connect strategic rigor and measurable outcomes with work that makes people feel something. His experience strengthens our ability to pursue larger national campaigns and bring more ambitious ideas to our existing clients.”
Azula will work closely with Chief Creative Officer Debra Fitzgerald and WCG’s creative team to elevate work across the agency’s client portfolio and bring creative thinking earlier into the development of brand and business solutions.
“When I think about the trajectory of our creative product, Andy’s depth of experience and innovative vision align perfectly with where we’re headed,” said Debra Fitzgerald, Chief Creative Officer at West Cary Group. “His breakthrough work, commitment to creative excellence, and ability to see what’s next will help us raise the bar and accelerate WCG’s next chapter.”Azula’s appointment follows several months of collaboration with WCG, giving him a firsthand view of its people, client relationships and ambitions.
“I wasn’t really looking to go back to agency life full time, but the more time I spent with WCG, the more I saw the opportunity,” said Azula. “They’ve already proven they can solve difficult problems for major brands. What excited me was the chance to build on that foundation with bigger, bolder creative work that gets noticed on a national scale, moves people and helps our clients grow. I realized I didn’t just want to advise from the outside. I wanted to help make it happen.”
WCG is seeing growing client demand for solutions that connect brand strategy, performance marketing, customer experience and technology. With an established strength in financial services, the agency is bringing that expertise to opportunities across other sectors while investing in AI to give its teams more room to explore ideas and pursue creative possibilities that previously would have been too costly or time-consuming to produce.
“What excites me is that we suddenly have tools that let us make things our brains could imagine but we could never afford to make before,” said Azula. “It’s a new puzzle, and none of us really knows how many pieces are in the box yet. But the problem we’re solving is still the same. We need to reach people with our stories. We need to build brands people love.”
